Los Angeles is one of the hottest tourist spots in the world, and for good reason. It is home to Hollywood, the Lakers and miles of sandy beaches.
L.A. is also home to some pawsome dog friendly bars. If you and your pooch are paying a visit to the Southland soon, be sure you put these three on your list of places to see and be seen. (Before you go, be sure to read our 5 Tips for Dining Out With Your Dog.)
1. The Fat Dog – 801 North Fairfax Ave. (map), 323-951-0030
According to UrbanDaddy.com, “The Fat Dog is a sleek little gastropub that welcomes two-legged and four-legged customers alike.”
Situated in the Fairfax/Melrose district, The Fat Dog has canine-inspired house cocktails and a huge patio on which you and your dog can spend the afternoon people watching.
2. Alcove Café – 1929 Hillhurst Ave. (map), 323-644-0100
The Alcove Café is not only dog-friendly, it’s environmentally friendly, too. And did we mention you might be dining next to the likes of Natalie Portman and her Yorkie, Whiz? If you’re into casual dining, a cottage-like setting and dining with A-list celebs, the Alcove Café is your place. Bring your pooch, kick back on the patio and do nothing but enjoy the beautiful SoCal weather, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.
3. Vintage Enoteca – 7554 West Sunset Blvd. (map), 323-512-5278
Described as cute and friendly, Vintage Enoteca has a front patio that welcomes four-legged guests. There’s even a jar full of dog treats next to the cash register in case your dog gets hungry and wants a snack. Located on the famed Sunset Blvd., Vintage Enoteca has been described by LAist as “a welcoming eatery where wine enthusiasts can sit comfortably alongside the wine-curious, sipping from Francois and Moore’s thoughtful selections, and nibbling on savory small plates and bites.” As an added incentive, their Grilled Cheese Mondays feature a new grilled cheese each week. Take your dog for happy hour and stay for the grilled cheese — neither of you will be disappointed.
